Lawmakers seek Musk probe over reported Ukraine Starlink restriction as GOP questions SpaceX reliance

Lawmakers from both parties are calling for an investigation into Elon Musk after The Wall Street Journal reported that the SpaceX chief restricted Ukraine's access to the company's Starlink satellite network. The Journal's Oct. 21 account quotes Republican Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick of Pennsylvania urging Congress to call Musk and other witnesses to testify under oath. Fitzpatrick told CNN, the Journal reports, “We got to investigate.”

The Hill reports that Republican Sens. John Cornyn, Thom Tillis, Susan Collins and Lisa Murkowski signed a bipartisan letter asking the Defense Department inspector general to investigate whether senior Pentagon officials played a role in limiting Ukraine's access to Starlink or Starshield. Rep. Mike Turner called for an investigation into who limited access, while Sen. Elizabeth Warren asked who ordered the limit, according to The Hill. Those requests address more than Musk's possible role.
