Park24 plans ¥3,000 payments for Times Car users after data breach

The Japan Times, carrying Jiji’s report, says Park24 plans ¥3,000 in cash or gift cards for affected Times Car users. Park24 says about 6.62 million accounts were compromised; about 1.46 million accounts from which identification-document images were transferred outside its systems are eligible for payment. The report says a law office plans a damages lawsuit against the operator and others. A lawyer at the office says more than 90,000 people have registered to participate.
