Iran reportedly struck at least three vessels in the Strait of Hormuz

A September 18 post citing UKMTO claims Iran struck at least three vessels in the Strait of Hormuz over the preceding 48 hours. It argues that damage to Saudi Arabia’s East-West Pipeline is pushing Saudi oil shipments back toward the strait. Separately, an Oil Context Weekly summary shared that day said the pipeline was entirely offline that week and would remain throttled for a month or more. The summary also reported diesel prices above $220 a barrel.
