At least 27 killed in two mass shootings near Johannesburg and Cape Town

The Guardian reports that South African police said gunmen killed 17 people at a Wedela bar and 10 at an entertainment venue in Lwandle. At least 26 others were wounded across the two shootings. Police said no arrests had been made as of Sunday and were investigating whether the Wedela attack was linked to an illegal-mining turf war or an earlier shooting at the same bar.
