Lufthansa tops third-quarter profit estimate, lowers 2026 profit outlook

Lufthansa earned €1.4 billion in adjusted operating profit in the third quarter, edging past the €1.38 billion average analyst estimate. Stronger yields and lower project spending helped cushion a €543 million increase in quarterly fuel costs. The airline lowered its 2026 adjusted operating profit outlook to €1.7 billion to €2 billion, compared with a previous peak of €2.2 billion, as higher fuel costs weighed on the group.
