Meta’s subsea cable projects reach six continents

Fortune reports Meta says it has invested in more than 20 subsea cable projects that together touch every continent except Antarctica. Its roughly 4,300-mile Petal cable is planned to connect the U.S. and France and is expected to enter service in 2029. Meta says Petal will carry 1 petabit per second, making it the first cable to deliver petabit-scale capacity across an ocean.
