Myanmar's Thanlyin oil refinery restarts after nearly a decade
Nikkei Asia reports the refinery's first phase began commercial operations near Yangon on October 14.
TLDR
Nikkei Asia reports that the Thanlyin refinery, shut since 2017, restarted on October 14 as Myanmar seeks to cut fuel imports. Its second phase is slated for completion in 2028. Once complete, the refinery is expected to process more than 60,000 barrels of crude a day, meeting roughly half the country's domestic demand.
