Jaishankar calls India a ‘natural option’ for Russia as Moscow turns to Asia

The Economic Times reports that India’s external affairs minister S. Jaishankar called India a ‘natural option’ for Russia as Moscow turns toward Asia. He said Russia’s relationship with Europe had deteriorated since the Ukraine war and that India’s ties with Russia had remained steady for 75–80 years. He argued that Russia should have significant relationships in Asia beyond China.
