Hyundai recalls over 94,600 Genesis sedans over power-seat fire risk
Forbes reports the NHTSA urges owners to park affected cars outside and away from other vehicles until repairs are made.
TLDR
Forbes, citing an NHTSA recall report, says faulty seat switches can keep motors running and cause them to overheat, creating a fire risk while vehicles are parked or moving. The recall covers 2015โ16 Hyundai Genesis sedans and 2017โ20 Genesis G80 sedans. According to the report, Hyundai is aware of at least two related vehicle fires in the US. Forbes says a full remedy was still being developed as of October 15, 2026.
