Meta sued in Australian class action over alleged harm to children on Facebook and Instagram

Reuters reports the class action was filed in Australia’s Federal Court. It alleges Facebook and Instagram exposed children to harmful content and kept them addicted through algorithms. Eight plaintiffs say they were harmed before turning 18 and seek compensation. Meta says it will defend itself vigorously.
