Airbnb restricts checkout chores for bookings made from November 20, 2026

Fortune reports Airbnb’s new policy generally prevents hosts from asking guests to strip beds, wash and put away dishes, or take trash off-site for reservations booked from November 20, 2026. Existing bookings aren’t affected. The Boston Globe reports a host’s petition against the rules had more than 20,000 signatures by October 29. Fortune says lighter requests, such as leaving dishes in the sink, remain allowed.
