FTC and states sue Toast over alleged hidden fees and subscription traps

Bloomberg reports the FTC and a group of states sued restaurant software company Toast, alleging it falsely offered free trials before enrolling customers in subscriptions that were difficult to cancel. The Boston Globe reports the suit also alleges hidden fees and unexpected cancellation charges. Toast denied the allegations and said it would defend itself in court, according to the Globe.
