Snap’s roughly $3 billion Specs bet against Meta
Forbes reports the $2,195 Specs drew criticism for their bulk and price, though they offer AR features Meta’s Ray-Bans lack.
TLDR
After more than a decade of work, Snap has spent roughly $3 billion on Specs, Forbes reports. The $2,195 AR glasses launched September 16, but a live demo stalled during a YouTube test. Meta’s cheaper glasses have sold more than 7 million pairs, though its Ray-Bans lack Specs’ more advanced AR features.
