Putin pitches Russia as Africa’s best partner at Moscow summit

At the third Russia-Africa Summit in Moscow on October 28, Vladimir Putin called Russia African countries’ best partner and accused Western countries of imposing predatory financing, Reuters reports. He offered grain and fertiliser supplies and proposed joint infrastructure projects. The gathering drew delegations from 48 countries, but his speech and offers do not establish what the summit ultimately delivered.
