Fed expected to hold rates steady ahead of US midterms

The Economic Times, carrying AFP, reports analysts expect the Fed to hold rates steady on October 28, days before the November 3 US midterms. The Fed raised its target range to 3.75%–4% in September, and markets price in at least one more hike before year-end. The Business Times, carrying Bloomberg, says the European Central Bank and Bank of Japan are also likely to hold rates that week.
