The Japanese sequel led North America's box office with an estimated $31.6 million, ahead of The Cat in the Hat's roughly $20 million. It marked a record opening for a live-action foreign-language film in the region. Premium large formats accounted for 74% of ticket sales, with IMAX contributing roughly $12.7 million. The debut exceeded Godzilla Minus One's $11.4 million opening in 2023.
