Meta bans ByteDance ads on its platforms in seven countries

Reuters reports via The Economic Times that Meta banned ByteDance ads on its platforms in the US, Canada, Egypt, Indonesia, Japan, Thailand and Vietnam. Meta said the ban took effect immediately and extends to third-party campaigns linking to TikTok and other ByteDance properties in those countries. Meta said it need not run ads from a competitor trying to draw people off its apps.
