CONTSHIP JET reportedly sinks after sea-drone attack off Bulgaria

In an Oct. 29 report, Reuters cited Bulgaria’s government as saying the Liberian-flagged CONTSHIP JET had sunk after three sea drones hit it on Oct. 28 in Bulgaria’s exclusive economic zone, outside territorial waters. Shipowner Contships Management said all 18 crew were rescued and taken safely to Varna. Bulgaria’s government reported no visible pollution in initial inspections on Oct. 29; Reuters said responsibility for the attack was not immediately clear.
