Indian drug panel rejects child imagery on cough syrup labels, proposes under-4 warning

The Economic Times reports that a drugs consultative committee rejected a proposal to put images of infants, toddlers, toys and other child-oriented imagery on cough syrup labels. Instead, it proposed a prominent red warning stating that cough syrup should not be used in children below four. The government is considering the recommendation and may amend its drug-labeling rules.
