India asks states and Union Territories to enforce hospital rate-display rules

The Economic Times reports India’s health secretary asked states and Union Territories to review compliance with existing rules requiring covered clinical establishments to display service rates prominently. She said clearer pricing could help patients plan treatment spending and reduce billing disputes. The Centre also called for prominent display of applicable package rates for foreign patients seeking medical or Ayush treatment.
