Cheap Chinese antibiotics threaten Europe’s last fully integrated penicillin plant

Reuters reports that cheaper Chinese antibiotics and ingredients are putting Sandoz’s Kundl plant under pressure. Lower prices benefit European healthcare programs, but Sandoz says the plant cannot remain commercially sustainable unless governments pay more for penicillin. The company has asked the European Commission to open an anti-dumping investigation into Chinese amoxicillin ingredients.
