ICRA cuts India’s FY27 farm growth forecast after weakest monsoon since 2015
The Economic Times reports that 2026 monsoon rainfall was 87% of the long-period average, while kharif sowing fell 1.2% year-on-year.
TLDR
The Economic Times reports that ICRA cut its FY27 agriculture, forestry and fishing growth forecast to about 1% from 1.3% after India’s weak 2026 southwest monsoon. Kharif acreage was down 1.2% from a year earlier by end-September. ICRA says depleted reservoirs could affect the upcoming rabi sowing season, particularly in southern and some northern states.
