Metrocon chairman Alvin Lim resigns after charge over allegedly unlicensed worker dormitory
LBD Engineering, Metrocon's controlling shareholder, also faces a charge of operating the dormitory without a valid licence.
TLDR
Lim resigned effective October 29 and intends to contest a charge alleging he knowingly allowed LBD Engineering to keep operating the dormitory without a licence. The Ministry of Manpower said a January inspection found 173 migrant workers there. Metrocon said Lim and another director had not informed its board about ministry interviews. It said neither the company nor its subsidiaries has been charged and expects no material impact on its operations or financial performance.
