@BullTheoryio🚨Japan just gave BOJ more reason to keep raising interest rates. Japan's business confidence hit an 8-year high, with large manufacturers sentiment rising to +24 from +22. This shows economy is holding up despite the Middle East conflict and higher borrowing costs. Big firms also plan to raise capital spending by 11.3% this fiscal year. Companies now expect inflation at 2.6% in 3 years and 2.5% in 5 years, both above BOJ's 2% target. Bank of Japan's latest meeting summary also showed policymakers focused on inflation risks from higher oil prices, a weaker yen, rising import costs and strong AI-related demand. Most importantly, one BOJ opinion said that if inflation begins moving above target, the bank may need to accelerate the pace of rate hikes. Japan's economy is staying strong while inflation remains high, raising the pressure on BOJ to deliver further rate hikes.
