Chipotle's Q3 same-store sales rise 2.1%, beating expectations

Yahoo Finance reports Chipotle's third-quarter same-store sales rose 2.1%, topping estimates of 1.4% to 1.5%. Revenue met forecasts at $3.29 billion, but adjusted earnings of $0.27 a share missed the $0.29 estimate. Bloomberg says menu launches and revamped loyalty offers helped sustain a recovery threatened by a food-illness scare. CEO Scott Boatwright said lower-income customers outperformed higher-income ones for the first time this year, according to Yahoo Finance.
