Indian households’ median one-year inflation expectation rises to 10% in RBI survey

The Economic Times reports that the RBI’s September 2026 household survey put the median one-year inflation expectation at 10%, up from 9.4% in July. The three-month expectation rose from 9.2% to 9.9%. The survey covered 5,987 respondents in 19 major cities. The 10% figure reflects households’ expectations, not the central bank’s inflation forecast.
