Coal India's power-sector coal supply rose 11% in July–September

The Economic Times reports that Coal India said its coal supply to the power sector rose 11.01% to 148.20 million tonnes in July–September. The company said the increase, ahead of the festive season, was likely to help keep thermal power plants supplied. Its September coal production rose 9.18%, while Union coal minister G Kishan Reddy said there was no coal shortage despite higher demand and monsoon-related mining disruptions.
