Microsoft says Office bug exposed customers' confidential emails to Copilot AI

Microsoft has acknowledged a bug that allowed its Copilot AI to summarize customers' confidential emails without permission, bypassing data protection policies. The bug, identified as CW1226324, affected draft and sent email messages with a confidential label, allowing Copilot Chat to read and outline their contents since January. Microsoft has started rolling out a fix for the issue in February.
