Shops in Japan are starting to ration GPUs
The global memory shortage is impacting the GPU market, with some Japanese shops starting to ration high-capacity graphics cards. Tsukumo eX. in Akihabara is limiting purchases to one GeForce RTX 5060 Ti 16GB or higher, or a Radeon RX 9000 series or higher per customer due to difficulties in procuring these cards. The shortage stems from reduced DRAM production, which has tightened GDDR supply, forcing AMD, Intel, and Nvidia to cut their output.
