Elon Musk says Tesla ending Models S and X production, converting Fremont factory lines to make Optimus robots

Tesla is ending production of its Model S and X vehicles and will convert the Fremont factory lines to build Optimus humanoid robots, according to CEO Elon Musk on the company's fourth-quarter earnings call. The Model S and X, Tesla's oldest vehicles, will be phased out, with Musk encouraging interested buyers to order now. The company plans to unveil the third generation of Optimus this quarter, its first design meant for mass production, and expects to significantly increase output at the Fremont facility.
