Google Messages, Apple testing encrypted RCS on Android & iOS 26.4

Google and Apple are testing encrypted RCS messaging between Android and iOS devices, allowing messages to be sent securely. This feature, part of the RCS Universal Profile, will be available in a future iOS update and is currently in beta for iOS 26.4 and the latest Google Messages beta. Users will see an encrypted message indicator in their messaging apps.
