Worlds biggest battery storage to be built in Minnesota
An iron-air battery system from Form Energy will be built in Minnesota with the massive capacity of 30 gigawatt-hours, that can feed 300 megawatt. Will be built for Xcel Energy, in partnership with Google.
Xcel Energy announced it will power a new Google data center in Pine Island, Minnesota, contributing to the state’s economy and clean energy goals. The agreement includes a large buildout of new clean energy projects, ensuring benefits for Xcel Energy’s current customers. Google will cover all costs for its new service, and the partnership will bring 1,900 megawatts of new clean energy to the grid.
