Gmail Is Ending Gmailify & POP Fetching — Here’s the TL;DR
TL;DR:
Google is phasing out Gmailify and “Check mail from other accounts” (POP fetching) in Gmail.
New users lose access in early 2026.
Existing users keep it until later in 2026, when the features are fully shut down.
You won’t lose any previously imported emails.
To keep getting mail from other providers, you’ll need to:
Set up automatic forwarding from your other email service, or
Add the account to the Gmail mobile app (IMAP).
If you rely on Gmail to pull in Yahoo, Outlook, or other third‑party mail, now’s the time to switch your setup.

Gmail will stop supporting Gmailify and POP for fetching emails from third-party accounts by the first quarter of 2026. Gmailify allowed special features like spam protection for third-party emails, while POP fetched emails from other accounts into Gmail. Existing users can still use these features until they are turned off later in 2026. To continue accessing emails from other accounts, users can set up automatic forwarding or add their accounts in the Gmail app, which uses IMAP.
