Apple Reportedly Agrees to 100% Price Hike on Samsung Memory Chips

Apple has reportedly agreed to a 100% price hike on Samsung's LPDDR5X memory chips for the iPhone 17, according to a report from Korean outlet Dealsite. The price of the 12GB LPDDR5X modules used in the iPhone Air and iPhone 17 Pro has already doubled from around $30 to approximately $70. This price increase reflects the shortage of mobile DRAM due to chipmakers redirecting production towards high-bandwidth memory for AI servers.
