Anthropic acquires Vercept, whose Vy desktop agent lets users control a Mac or PC with natural language, to “advance Claude's computer use capabilities”

GeekWire reports that Anthropic, a San Francisco-based AI company, is acquiring Seattle-based AI startup Vercept. The acquisition will integrate Vercept’s technology and team into Anthropic’s AI agent, Claude, as the race to develop AI agents that can operate software intensifies. Vercept’s desktop application, Vy, will shut down as part of the deal.
