Piracy Crackdown in Italy Shuts Down IPTV Services Ahead of Winter Olympics

Ahead of the 2026 Winter Olympics, Italian authorities dismantled a global IPTV network in a massive international operation called 'Operation Switch Off'. The operation targeted key infrastructure and resellers, affecting millions of users worldwide and generating between €8 million and €10 million in illicit revenue every month. The crackdown involved raids in 11 Italian cities and 14 countries, leading to the identification of 31 key suspects and the disconnection of over 125,000 users in Italy alone.
