Many consumer electronics manufacturers 'will go bankrupt or exit product lines' by the end of 2026 due to the AI
According to a report by PC Gamer, Phison CEO Pua Khein-Seng predicts that the AI memory crisis will lead to many consumer electronics manufacturers going bankrupt or exiting product lines by the end of 2026. The shortage of memory, particularly DRAM and NAND Flash, is expected to last until 2030, with some estimates suggesting it could extend even further. The crisis is attributed to the high demand for memory in AI and other computing-adjacent devices, causing a significant reduction in the production of consumer electronics such as mobile phones, PCs, and TVs.
