Measurably so. Everyone did not have 24/7 access to a feedback loop of hyperreality There was TV, which hijacked your attention with kayfabe of no real importance. But then you turned it off and went to the park, diner or mall for discussions of consequence with your friends.

It was being outside with no worries until the street lights came on. Riding bikes & roller blading up & down the streets, jumping fences, making “corner stores” in front of the crib with your friends. It was FUN. It was community. Ahhh, I miss it.. GREAT TIMES!!! WAY… Show more
