Cloudflare Workers AI Integrates Moondream 3.1 For Low-Latency Vision
Cloudflare and Moondream are pitching sub-second vision inference at the edge, with timing claims that include network round-trip time.
Cloudflare says it has added Moondream 3.1 to Workers AI, with both companies framing it on X as a way to speed up image understanding closer to users and cameras. In Cloudflare's announcement, the company says developers can use the model to query images, generate captions and return object coordinates or bounding boxes in under a second. In his X post, Moondream's Vikhyat Kumar said latency is the point and that the posted numbers include network round-trip time.
Latency matters when running vision AI in real-world settings. Super excited to partner with Cloudflare to bring the fastest vision model to the cloud with the most edge presence. (Yes, these numbers include network round trip time!)
