Joseph Suarez, an MIT PhD who created Neural MMO and founded PufferAI to develop open-source RL environments, tools, and infrastructure, replied to @thdxr. He stated the situation is fucked. Suarez explained that you used to only be able to be so stupid. Even most of the dumb projects he was involved in before LLMs were people trying to do roughly the right thing, just incompetently. Now even the objectives make no sense. The reply appeared in a thread tagged open source and addressed startup advice.
