They invested for AWS to be able to offer SOTA models Amazon like Opis and Sonnet on Bedrock, the type of models AWS failed to build (Nova is subpar)

@GergelyOrosz Amazon is fronting 100s of billions of capex so Anthropic and OpenAI can use that capacity. It is far from their best interest to see them burn, because then there is no buyer for those GPUs.

@GergelyOrosz I actually think apple through its hardware is really well positioned for a bull market on local LLMs. Their hardware sits at a really intersection of price to capability, an m4 mini is all you need to start getting to the interesting local models
