The final number for the iconic Jensen Jacket went for $960,000. We are blown away and so deeply moved. All proceeds go towards funding the next generation of young minds to build the world they imagine (through grants and fellowships) at Edge City (of whom we are so proud to be a second believer). Thank you first and foremost to Jensen for his generosity and care. Thank you also to the Sotheby's team for working with us on this philanthropic initiative. Most importantly congratulations and thank you to the winner of this legendary jacket. We are excited to host you for a Denny's meal as well (at the restaurant where NVIDIA was founded). Onwards.
We emailed Jensen Huang to see if he would be interested in collaborating on a charity auction. He said YES! Jensen offered his black leather jacket (and signed it) to fund grants & fellowships for young builders to take risks and find their higher calling. We believe in the lore and magic that exists in the tech community. 50 hours left in the Jensen Jacket Auction. $80k, 27 bids at Sotheby's.
Btw - we are already scouring for the next iconic clothing item for our next charity poker event. This was a donation to the @LongJourneyVC and @JoinEdgeCity Inflection grants and fellowship initiatives. Last year it was Zuck's iconic gold chain. Who's next??
