just used composer 2.5 for the first time and it’s ridiculously good.
can only assume people are incentivized to hype other models because this is incredible.

Users are excited about Composer 2.5 because it delivers superior reliability, speed, and intelligence-to-cost balance on complex long-running tasks compared with earlier versions.

@iruletheworldmo Compared to gpt 5.5 and opus 4.7?

@iruletheworldmo The only reason it doesn’t have more hype is because there’s no api.
Insanely good model. So much fun to use

@iruletheworldmo been going deep on AI coding tools lately and yeah the gap between the actual good ones and the hype ones is way bigger than most people admit

@iruletheworldmo ridiculously good is an understatement. it’s like they finally cracked the code on what users really need.

@iruletheworldmo Elon will eventually win in the end, it’s inevitable.

Composer 2.5 is excellent at long-running tasks and complex instructions — way more reliable and pleasant to work with than before, all at a fraction of frontier model prices. Huge win for daily coding. 🚀 And let us not forget that the collab with @xai which provided them with a 10 x compute was a paradigm shift

@iruletheworldmo @tibor_tee Yessss!!! Composer 2.5 is cwrazy!! 🔥🔥

@iruletheworldmo can someone please incentivize people to listen to my music 😭

@sunnypause @iruletheworldmo Not as smart, but barely. The speed makes it far easier to steer and iterate quickly. It's the first model to pull me away from SOTA, the speed is actually worth it over the incremental intelligence outside of very hard problems.

@iruletheworldmo Xai deal to acquire Cursor is pretty much guaranteed atp

@iruletheworldmo It's crazy

@iruletheworldmo the good intelligence/cost/speed balance is real here

@iruletheworldmo It's price per task is enticing.

@Utkarsh51557661 @iruletheworldmo How are the usage limits

@iruletheworldmo Composer 2 was smart & fast. There are a few standouts like GPT models, Claude series. But the rest rotates permanently and yes good- this & that. You feel the difference here too, blockbuster-model-series.

@iruletheworldmo Did they pay you a pro sub to say that? 👀

@iruletheworldmo Is the new model called Goblin? That would be hilarious.

@cartermitchell_ @iruletheworldmo Please try our ACP and SDK integrations. see http://cursor.com/docs

I have not yet found a use case where I would use it myself. The speed of GPT-5.5 Fast and Opus 4.7 is sufficient for me, and I do not want to accept the intelligence gap.
That said, I have tested it as well, and I have to say that it has definitely become really strong, especially because it benefits a lot from the cooperation with xAI.

@iruletheworldmo It is much better than composer 2.0.
