@Miles_Brundage That's an old tweet. But Trump isn't wrong. Would we give Boeing veto power over whom we bomb or which war we fight?

@dari1063 @Miles_Brundage That would be a salient point if that's what Anthropic asked for. It wasn't.
They wanted the government to pinky swear that it wouldn't use their models for mass domestic surveillance and fully autonomous weapons systems; and the government said no. That's it.

@Miles_Brundage Anthropic is a lot like the Democratic Party. They find it intolerable to work with the current administration. They feel justified in doing so. Intolerance gets you no where and the American people suffer for it. It’s getting old and annoying.

@Miles_Brundage but is he wrong ?

@Miles_Brundage If Mythos is what they claim it is, then it is a superweapon no different than a nuke. If Anthropic was a weapons company, then most people would be 100% for what the government just did...

Which the Pentagon can't do anyway. It's the law. I don't think even the Obama administration would have agreed to Anthropic's demand. No one is asking Anthropic to sell their services to the defense department. The problem with Anthropic is that it wants to make billions of dollars to justify its valuation. That's why they teamed up with the Pentagon.

@MLaHatte @Miles_Brundage i'm sorry, i struggle to see this argumentation in trump's post. but i see 'RADICAL LEFT, WOKE COMPANY'

@AphanFX @Miles_Brundage I love how Trump and his administration are so brazenly self-serving and politically vengeful, and you still blame it on the private company developing a private product for the market instead of the communist government sabotaging enterprise.

@Miles_Brundage This particular message rings a bell. 🤷🏻♀️

@Miles_Brundage ANTHROPIC NO HAVE BUTTON. ME HAVE BUTTON. ME PUSH BUTTON. ME GODKING OF VENEZUELA. Whoops, I mean Iran... no.. damnit... oh, right, it's the USA. Is it nap time yet? God bless America.

@Miles_Brundage If Anthropic is so ethical, I want their research to be ethical as well publicly disclose the training data they have used.

@Miles_Brundage Whatever happened to the claims that “the industry will regulate itself” and such?

@Miles_Brundage but there's no possible way that there could be a political dimension to Anthropic's antagonistic approach to national security policy, right?

@Miles_Brundage seems like the only relationship there is consistency in unpredictability

@Miles_Brundage Only a woke lib would think unelected woke liberals should dictate how the military operates.

@Miles_Brundage oh the irony is practically glowing off that screenshot

@Miles_Brundage Hard to pretend procurement is ever fully apolitical
