ISRO Launches EOS-05 Satellite on GSLV-F17

The Indian Space Research Organisation launched GSLV-F17 carrying EOS-05 from Sriharikota. Economic Times described the mission as placing India's Eye in the Sky to watch borders 24/7. Times of India reported that the rocket successfully placed EOS-05, the country's first imaging satellite designed for geosynchronous orbit, into position during the early hours of Friday. Multiple linked sources confirm the placement in orbit and note the satellite's intended role in Earth observation.
