There's parallels with Accenture as Accenture is the "external consultant" for software development
We can assume in-house dev teams can do more, and thus fewer external consultants needed. (The data I have is from legal, but I assume there are similarities)
So I was talking with the cofounder of legal AI startup Wordsmith (disclaimer: investor)
They sell software to make the work of in-house legal teams easier. The impact of this software is NOT layoffs, but spending ~80% less on external legal council their team previously had to!
