Apple is expanding its smart-home lineup with the Apple Home Collection, a set of partner-made accessories it co-developed with LG Electronics and Schneider Electric. The collection includes indoor, outdoor and floodlight cameras, a video doorbell, a smart deadbolt, two thermostats and separate temperature sensors.
The products are designed to work with Apple Home and can be set up with an iPhone without creating a separate account. Apple says Home app data is end-to-end encrypted, making it inaccessible to Apple, LG and Schneider Electric.
Cameras, locks and climate controls
LG’s four-camera range supports up to 2.5K video, while HomeKit Secure Video offers 10 days of event history on supported iCloud+ plans. The dual-camera doorbell can show visitors and packages separately, and the floodlight and outdoor cameras include low-light color night vision.
The LG Smart Deadbolt Lock uses Ultra Wideband to detect an approaching authorized user and unlock automatically. It also supports tap-to-unlock with an iPhone or Apple Watch, a PIN pad and a hidden backup key. LG and Schneider Electric each offer a thermostat, with Apple’s Home app adjusting temperatures based on whether people are home, winding down or away.
December rollout, with more in 2027
Apple says availability begins in December, with selected accessories following in early 2027. U.S. starting prices run from $39.95 for temperature sensors to $399.95 for LG’s floodlight camera. The doorbell starts at $249.95, the deadbolt at $349.95, and both thermostats at $199.95.
TechCrunch described the collection as part of Apple’s push to compete more directly with Amazon Ring and Google Nest. Apple is pairing the accessories with HomeView, its new smart-home hub. Apple says certain features require a compatible home hub such as a HomePod or Apple TV.
