Intuit says it has signed an agreement to acquire Sequence, a London- and New York-based company that automates the quote-to-revenue process for businesses. Intuit did not disclose the transaction's financial terms, while The Times reported that a source close to the deal estimated it at about $200 million.
The distinction matters: the companies announced an acquisition agreement, not a completed transaction. Intuit says it will keep supporting Sequence customers and make the platform's capabilities available after the deal closes.
What Sequence adds to Intuit
Sequence was founded in 2021 by Riya Grover and Eamon Jubbawy. Its software handles contract configuration and pricing, billing, invoicing, collections and revenue recognition for business customers, including companies with usage-based or hybrid pricing.
That fills a gap Intuit is targeting as it moves further upmarket. The company says Sequence will extend the revenue-management tools in Intuit Enterprise Suite and QuickBooks Online Advanced, giving mid-market businesses and accounting firms one place to price, bill and collect revenue tied to usage, seats or project milestones.
Team and product integration
Sequence's team, including Grover, is expected to join Intuit's Mid-Market product organization. Intuit says it plans to develop an integrated offering in the coming months after the acquisition closes.
