The strongest argument against powerful open models is that capability access is all-or-nothing. Tiered Language Models (TLMs) change that: open weights, tiered capabilities unlocked by keys 🗝️. Each key selects one of exponentially many computation graphs, making unauthorized access to privileged capabilities hard.
Super excited about this direction!
Can we release all the weights of an LLM but still provide differential access to privileged users?
Yes! We introduce: 𝗧𝗶𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗟𝗮𝗻𝗴𝘂𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗠𝗼𝗱𝗲𝗹𝘀 (𝗧𝗟𝗠𝘀). Define access tiers corresponding to different computation graphs over the same set of LLM parameters!
