Google has added a new Remembered tab to Find Hub, expanding the app beyond standard Bluetooth trackers to cover items that are harder to tag physically.
The new section uses Gemini to help users log where they put everyday objects that do not make sense to equip with a tracker. As Android Authority reports, Find Hub now lets users tag an item, save a note, attach a picture and later check where they stored it.
How Remembered works
The feature can be used through voice or manual entry. Android Authority writes that users can trigger Gemini and say something like where they left a passport, and Gemini will save that information for later retrieval through Find Hub. The Remembered tab also supports manual entry, with fields for an item name, storage location and additional notes.
Google also lets users attach a photo when saving a memory, which can make the feature more useful for objects stored in places that are hard to describe precisely, such as drawers, cupboards or storage boxes, Android Authority reports.
What it is for, and what it is not
The idea is to create a single place inside Find Hub for belongings that are put away rather than actively tracked in motion. That makes it different from a Bluetooth tracker attached to keys, wallets or bags. Instead of locating an object electronically, Remembered depends on the user having saved accurate information in the first place.
Android Authority notes that this means the feature is manual by design: if an item is moved and the entry is not updated, Find Hub will still point to the old location.
Early hands-on use
In a hands-on test, Android Authority’s Dhruv Bhutani wrote that he used the feature to save the location of several commonly misplaced items, including the key to his second car, a camera adaptor, sunglasses and a daily notebook. He reported that when he later asked Gemini where one of those items was, it returned the saved drawer location and displayed the attached photo.
That points to the practical pitch for Remembered: not replacing trackers, but giving Find Hub a way to remember the kinds of items people often stash somewhere safe and then forget about later.
